Private Beta
Release history, improvements, fixes and known limitations for RearSilver Stream Suite Private Beta builds.
1.0.0-beta.8 — 29 September 2026
This release adds the Stream Suite side of the RearSilver Avatar Suite companion integration and improves Music Overlay reliability when OBS starts.
Added
- Added optional companion-launch support for RearSilver Avatar Suite.
- Added an Avatar Suite companion status card to Suite Settings → Hub & Startup.
- Added an Open Avatar Suite button when a valid Avatar Suite installation is registered.
- Added concise Avatar Suite detection, launch-preference and installation-validity information to Feedback & Diagnostics.
- Added the AvatarCompanionSchema=1 capability marker to the Stream Suite Windows installation registration.
Improvements
- Stream Suite can open Avatar Suite when the Control Hub starts and Open Avatar Suite with Stream Suite is enabled in Avatar Suite → General.
- Avatar Suite discovery uses its registered 64-bit Windows installation and validates the expected executable before launching it.
- Automatic and manual launches use the same installation validation and duplicate-process prevention.
- Avatar Suite remains independent after launch. Closing OBS or the Stream Suite Control Hub does not close Avatar Suite.
- Missing settings, an unavailable installation and older Avatar Suite versions are handled without interrupting Stream Suite.
- Avatar Suite remains separate from the generic App Manager and is not silently added to its application list.
- Companion diagnostics report only concise integration state and do not expose the registered installation path.
Fixes
- Fixed the Music Overlay remaining blank after starting a new OBS session until its browser source was manually refreshed.
- Stream Suite now updates and reloads only its managed Music Overlay browser source after the local overlay service becomes available.
- Ensured automatic companion launching does not create another Avatar Suite process when it is already running.
- Ensured Avatar Suite is not closed by Stream Suite’s managed-application shutdown handling.
Known limitations
Companion launching requires a compatible Avatar Suite installation that registers its installation location and executable through the Windows installer.
The Open Avatar Suite with Stream Suite preference is managed in Avatar Suite → General. Stream Suite displays the resulting state but does not provide a duplicate preference control.
Older Avatar Suite installations that do not provide the required installer registration are reported as unavailable or invalid and are not launched.
The capability marker enables Avatar Suite to detect compatible Stream Suite installations. Both applications must contain their respective companion-integration support for the complete feature to be available.
1.0.0-beta.7 — 26 September 2026
This release completes the current tester-feedback pass with improvements to installation, dock flexibility, accessibility, Quick Text and update reliability.
Added
- Added support for selecting the main OBS Studio installation folder separately from the Control Hub destination.
- Added configurable text outlines to Quick Text, including outline colour and width.
- Added a visible internal splitter marker when using the OBS Default theme.
- Added responsive compact navigation for narrower dock layouts.
Improvements
- The installer remembers the selected OBS installation location so future updates continue using the same OBS installation.
- Auto layout now switches between normal and compact arrangements according to the available width.
- Vertical layout now deliberately uses the compact arrangement.
- Compact layouts stack primary navigation and Quick Action controls while reorganising scene and music controls into fewer columns.
- Compact tab navigation displays complete tabs and directional controls instead of partially visible labels.
- Quick Text outline settings appear in the Control Hub preview, OBS output and saved presets.
- Quick Text now uses a single state-aware Show message or Hide message control in both the Control Hub and OBS dock.
- Returning embedded Scenes and Sources panels to OBS now persists after restarting OBS.
- Update handoffs now create a unique temporary updater helper for every installation attempt.
- Completed temporary updater helpers are cleaned up automatically where possible.
- Update-helper staging failures now record and display the underlying Windows error number.
Fixes
- Corrected malformed High Contrast styling, including selected controls that could retain the standard blue appearance.
- Restored clear visible and hidden source icons under High Contrast.
- Restored the green and red connection indicators for the streamer and bot accounts across theme changes.
- Prevented the native Scenes and Sources docks from reopening blank after returning them to OBS and restarting.
- Prevented stale updater-helper filenames from blocking later update attempts.
- Made the internal Stream Suite splitter discoverable under OBS Default without replacing the rest of OBS’s native styling.
Known limitations
The OBS Default splitter marker uses the active OBS highlight colour. Third-party OBS themes may display it differently.
Users updating from an older build whose updater helper cannot be staged may need to download and run the beta 7 installer manually once.
The unique updater-helper staging change has not yet been reproduced and verified on the tester’s affected computer. If staging still fails, beta 7 now reports the Windows error number needed for diagnosis.
Automatic OBS-location detection depends on the saved Suite location, the registered OBS installation, or the standard OBS folder. Portable or manually moved OBS installations may require selecting the folder through the visible installer.
1.0.0-beta.6 — 22 September 2026
This release focuses on protecting active streams from system-media failures and making diagnostic information much easier to collect and share.
Added
- Isolated Windows system-media polling into a separate helper process so a failure cannot close the Control Hub or applications managed by the App Manager.
- Added one-click diagnostic package export to the Feedback and Diagnostics page.
- Added a date selector so diagnostic packages only include information from the day the issue occurred.
- Automatically includes available Control Hub logs, system-media logs, crash dumps and Windows crash information.
- Keeps diagnostic packages below Discord’s 20 MB upload limit and reports any files that had to be omitted.
- Redacts sensitive information from exported diagnostic files.
Improvements
- Testers no longer need to search Reliability Monitor or AppData folders manually.
- Diagnostic exports now include a manifest and feedback report explaining what was collected.
- A system-media failure is contained separately instead of taking other stream-related applications down with the Control Hub.
Known limitations
- The underlying cause of the intermittent Windows 10 access-violation crash remains under investigation. This release reduces its potential impact and provides the information needed to diagnose it accurately.
- If the isolated system-media helper fails, Windows media-key integration may temporarily become unavailable while the main Control Hub remains open.
- Diagnostic packages only include crash information that Windows or the Suite successfully recorded.
