Step 1
— Find an available update
The Control Hub checks for updates automatically after it launches. When an update is available, an Update Available badge appears in the sidebar; select it to open Software updates. To check manually, open Suite Settings and find Software updates under Hub & Startup, or open the Help menu and select Check for updates.
Step 2
— Review the update
Software updates shows the installed version, the available version and whether the update is recommended or required. Select Release notes when available to review what has changed before downloading the update.
Step 3
— Download the update
Select Download update. The Control Hub shows the download progress and verifies the installer after the download completes. You can select Cancel download while the download is still running.
Step 4
— Prepare for installation
Finish any active stream, recording or replay-buffer activity before installing the update. Keep OBS Studio and the Control Hub open and connected so RearSilver Stream Suite can begin the update handoff and close them correctly.
Step 5
— Install the update
After the installer has been verified, select Install update and confirm the warning. RearSilver Stream Suite requests a normal OBS Studio close, closes the Control Hub and runs the verified installer. OBS may ask you to confirm that active output will end. OBS will give a native confirmation box if a stream, recording or replay buffer is active. It's fine to confirm if it's just the replay buffer that is active.
Step 6
— Confirm the update
After installation succeeds, the Control Hub and OBS Studio reopen automatically. If the Control Hub asks whether to review your saved setup, select Review setup to check it or Keep my saved setup to continue unchanged. Open Software updates to confirm the installed version. The software version is also noted in the dock and bottom of the sidebar in the hub.
